titled film stills


i took a series of photographs,
called them "Titled Film Stills"
and named every picture after you.
i found a dozen models and
lined them up, gave one of them
the shirt you kept in my dresser
and never came to get.
gave another a hat like the one
you wore when it rained,
another a long black jacket.
i curled their hair like yours,
told them to smile. used the key
you never took from me to break into
your house and pose them on your bed,
in your bathroom looking through
your medicine cabinet.
